LCP and Argos win double MCA awards for one of the biggest retail transformations in the UK and Europe…

LCP Consulting and Argos have won the Commercial Excellence and Outstanding Project of the Year Award at the 2016 Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Awards.

Working with Argos at all levels of the organisation over three years, LCP helped create a truly customer-driven supply chain that enables the delivery of a radical new customer promise: same day delivery or store collection on a range of items, and next-day fulfilment on many more.

LCP helped Argos shape the supply strategy, refine the ‘Hub & Spoke’ model through a large scale pilot, and implement the largest change programme the organisation has ever undergone. The results are being seen in increased customer satisfaction and demand, improved business performance and best-in-class industry awards – and has led to one of the biggest retail transformations in the UK and Europe.

LCP is the leading specialist in customer-driven supply chain and business operations consultancy. Clients include the UK’s largest retailer, six out of the top ten UK retailers, and many global foodservice manufacturers. With LCP’s manufacturing practice rapidly expanding alongside its retail practice, the consultancy has continued to build on its capabilities and experience at both ends of the supply chain – providing clients with a market leading end-to-end solution.

John Lockton, Managing Director, LCP Consulting, said:

“We're thrilled to have been acknowledged with this important award and I am really proud of our joint team – everyone has put a lot of hard work and innovative thinking into this project and it is a great success for Argos. As a specialist consultancy, this award is real recognition for what we all continually strive to do for our clients and I’m delighted to see our efforts recognised externally.”

Alan Leaman, CEO, Management Consultancies Association, said:

“The Project of the Year Award goes to an outstanding piece of work that has made a significant impact. For the MCA judges, LCP’s work with Argos stood out for the skill, imagination and sheer hard work that was involved. It has clearly set the retailer on a new and successful path.”

The MCA Awards were judged by an independent expert panel of judges with experience of working in the private and public sectors, universities, consultancy and journalism.
