Iconic UK bakery brand: Identifying new routes to market to reduce costs and increase customer reach and service

Our client had been operating a distribution model that did not provide the correct balance of cost management and customer service. Coupled with a declining bakery, market profitability was being challenged.

We reviewed the distribution model, assessing the current customer base and the costing methodology, and implemented a systematic process to review market opportunities for logistics collaboration.

Together, LCP and our client identified a number of strategic options that would bring about a reduction in distribution costs and enable the client to decrease its reliance on internal logistics, whilst improving its customer reach and service.
